New Delhi: Max Hospital in the Panchsheel Park area of ​​South Delhi has unveiled its Max Institute of Eye Care (MIEC). The main objective of launching this leading center is to meet the needs of local residents and provide access to state-of-the-art technology and treatment by introducing competitive prices. Doctors are reporting an increase in the number of patients with eye diseases since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Housing more than 20 consultation/examination rooms, advanced state-of-the-art modular operating theaters managed by a team of 16 super-specialists, MIEC will be a center providing a range of eye care services in a hospital setup. Under the able leadership of Dr. Sanjay Dhawan, Senior Director and Head of Ophthalmology, Max Institute of Eye Care, the center will offer services ranging from retinal disorders, cataracts, refractive glaucoma surgery, eye diseases/ corneal, pediatric and neurophthalmology disorders, ophthalmic plastic services, eye cancer, among many others under one roof.

“We have seen a significant increase in the number of patients complaining of eye disorders during the post-COVID recovery period as well as an increase in screen time. Our goal is to provide quality, technology-driven eye care in the National Capital Region. The team is trained to perform minimally invasive cataract surgeries, LASIK, femtosecond laser surgeries, among other high-end procedures. The team is efficient in performing these procedures in a day care setting which ensures that the patient has a minimized hospital stay,” Dr. Dhawan said.

The eye center is well equipped with technologies including phacoemulsification, bladeless cataract surgery, laser surgery for eyeglass removal, or implantable contact lenses, to name a few.
